The Lab Verdict

Executive Summary

80

/100

The Verdict:

The Halo PRO Double-Wide is a 10,000-lb four-post built to store or service two vehicles side by side — 212.6 inches of overall width with 196 inches of drive-through, in Halo’s heavy-duty PRO construction. Park two below and store two above and it holds four cars in a wide bay. Its closest comparison is the dual-platform BendPak HD-9SW; for a single-lane PRO four-post, the HL9K-PRO.

  • Who Should Buy It:
  • Wide garages storing or servicing two vehicles side by side
  • Collectors packing four cars into a wide bay
  • Buyers who want Halo’s heavier PRO build
  • Who Should Skip It:
  • Narrow or single-car garages (this needs real width)
  • Full stand-up service (a two-post suits that)
  • ⚠️ Lab Note:
“Double-wide” is about width — at 212.6″ overall, measure your bay side to side before ordering.

Engineering Analysis

The “Deep Dive”

Hydraulics & Rise Time

An electric-hydraulic power unit raises the wide dual platform on equalized cables, with 196″ of clearance between the posts.

Safety Lock System

The PRO build’s multiple mechanical lock positions hold the full-width platform on steel stops for secure storage.

Structural Integrity

Heavy-duty PRO double-wide four-post rated 10,000 lb: 212.6″ overall width, 203.4″ long, 104″ posts, 196″ drive-through, 19″ runways — sized for two vehicles side by side.

The "Squeeze" Factor

This is the most critical section for the CLL-HL-004.

DRIVE-THROUGH WIDTH 205.51"

Let's do the math on a real-world scenario: 2023 Chevrolet Corvette.

Corvette Width (Mirrors Out): ~84"
Clearance: 60.7" per side
The Result:

It fits comfortably with plenty of clearance on each side.

Fit & setup

Freestanding on flat concrete (this needs a genuinely wide bay); confirm the footprint and ceiling height. See our best 4-post lifts guide or all 4-post lifts.

The Lab Take:

Both lifts are in a similar category. Your decision should come down to specific features that matter most for your use case.

Year 1 Maintenance Schedule

Owning a lift is like owning a car. You can’t just install it and ignore it.

Weekly

Wipe down the inside of the columns. Dust mixed with grease turns into a grinding paste that wears out your slider blocks. Check for debris around the runways and base plates.

Monthly

Check Cable Tension. You will hear the locks “clicking” as the lift goes up. If one corner clicks later than the others, that cable is loose. Tighten the nut on top of that specific column to level it out. Inspect the safety locks for proper engagement.

Yearly

Inspect the hydraulic hoses for dry rot or cracks. Grease the pulleys (sheaves) if they do not have sealed bearings. Check all bolts and fasteners for tightness. Verify hydraulic fluid levels and condition.
