The Lab Verdict

Executive Summary

77

/100

The Verdict:

The Katool KT-4H850 is an 8,500-lb four-post parking-and-storage lift that runs on a standard 110V outlet (220V optional) — no special wiring. It lifts to 70.87 inches for a second parking space or basic service, includes a caster kit to reposition it, and at 198 inches long fits most cars and light trucks. Strong import-grade value, backed by a 1-year parts / 3-year structure warranty.

  • Who Should Buy It:
  • Home garages that want to double their parking
  • Owners who need to roll the lift around (caster kit included)
  • Anyone who only has a 110V outlet
  • Who Should Skip It:
  • Heavy full-size trucks near or over 8,500 lb
  • Shops needing a full-rise service lift for stand-up work
  • ⚠️ Lab Note:
At 8,500 lb, confirm your vehicle’s curb weight leaves margin — full-size trucks can get close to the limit.

Engineering Analysis

The “Deep Dive”

Hydraulics & Rise Time

A 110VAC power unit (220V optional) raises both runways together on equalized cables — no special wiring — and a caster kit lets you roll it into place.

Safety Lock System

Multiple mechanical lock positions hold the runways on steel stops at height, backed by a 1-year parts / 3-year structure warranty.

Structural Integrity

Four-post parking-and-storage lift rated 8,500 lb: 70.87-inch lifting height, 83.66-inch overall height, 107.95 inches wide, 198.43 inches long with ramps. Runs on 110V; caster kit included.

The "Squeeze" Factor

This is the most critical section for the KT-4H850.

DRIVE-THROUGH WIDTH 82.00"

Let's do the math on a real-world scenario: 2023 Chevrolet Corvette.

Corvette Width (Mirrors Out): ~84"
Clearance: -1.1" per side
The Result:

It does not fit. This vehicle is too wide for this lift.

Fit & setup

Freestanding on flat concrete; the caster kit lets you reposition it. Confirm the 198-inch length and, for storage, your ceiling height. Compare in our best 4-post lifts guide.

The Lab Take:

Both lifts are in a similar category. Your decision should come down to specific features that matter most for your use case.

Year 1 Maintenance Schedule

Owning a lift is like owning a car. You can’t just install it and ignore it.

Weekly

Wipe down the inside of the columns. Dust mixed with grease turns into a grinding paste that wears out your slider blocks. Check for debris around the runways and base plates.

Monthly

Check Cable Tension. You will hear the locks “clicking” as the lift goes up. If one corner clicks later than the others, that cable is loose. Tighten the nut on top of that specific column to level it out. Inspect the safety locks for proper engagement.

Yearly

Inspect the hydraulic hoses for dry rot or cracks. Grease the pulleys (sheaves) if they do not have sealed bearings. Check all bolts and fasteners for tightness. Verify hydraulic fluid levels and condition.
