Founded in 1979, headquartered in Agoura Hills, California, they manufacture lifts for every application — from the $1,500 QuickJack portable you take to the track to the $15,000 Autostacker you install in a condo garage. What Makes BendPak Different

ALI/ETL Certification

Most BendPak lifts carry ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) and ETL certification — meaning they’ve been independently tested by a third party to ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standards, including 150% overload testing. This isn’t just a sticker — it’s documented proof that the lift was tested and passed.

HVLP Hydraulic System

BendPak’s High Volume, Low Pressure (HVLP) direct-drive cylinders operate at lower pressures than conventional systems. Lower pressure means less stress on seals and hoses, reduced leak potential, and smoother operation. It’s an engineering investment that pays off in longevity and maintenance costs.

Powder Coating

BendPak’s powder coating is the thickest and most consistent in the category. Chip resistance, UV stability, and color retention are all measurably superior to budget brands. This matters for aesthetics (home garage showrooms) and longevity (corrosion resistance in humid climates).

Galvanized Components

BendPak’s 2-post lineup spans from the space-saving GrandPrix GP-7 to the 15,000-lb XPR-15CL commercial workhorse.

XPR-10AS — The Benchmark (Lab Verdict: 9.2/10)

The XPR-10AS is the most-recommended 2-post lift across automotive forums, installer networks, and equipment review sites. Dual-width arms adjust between narrow (sports cars) and wide (trucks) configurations. HVLP direct-drive cylinders with single-point lock release. This is the lift other brands benchmark against.

Variants:

• XPR-10AS-LP — Low-profile for reduced ceiling height requirements
• XPR-10AS-168 — 168″ overall height for commercial spaces with higher ceilings and taller vehicles

XPR-10S — Symmetric Version (Lab Verdict: 8.0/10)

GrandPrix GP-7 Series — Low-Ceiling Specialist (Lab Verdict: 7.8/10)

The GrandPrix series uses an overhead-crossbar design with dual aircraft cables for synchronized lifting. Slim columns save width in tight bays. The GP-7LCS is the only BendPak 2-post lift designed for 9-foot residential ceilings — and the only ALI-certified lift that fits that ceiling height.

Trade-off: 7,000 lbs excludes most trucks. The reduced rise on the LCS (58″) limits undercarriage access compared to standard 2-post lifts (69–72″).

XPR-12CL / XPR-15CL — Heavy-Duty (Lab Verdict: 8.0/10)

12,000 and 15,000-lb models for commercial shops and heavy-vehicle owners. 6″ concrete minimum. Prices run $7,000–$9,000+. Overkill for most home garages but essential for fleet operations or F-350/3500-series truck owners.

BendPak 4-Post Lifts

HD-9 — The Standard (Lab Verdict: 8.8/10)

The HD-9 is the best-selling 4-post lift for home garages. All internal components (cables, airlines, safety latches) are contained within the columns for weather and damage protection. 9,000 lbs covers essentially all consumer vehicles.

• HD-9XL (~$6,800) — Extended length (~220″ runways) for long-wheelbase trucks
• HD-9SW — Super-wide for wider vehicles
• HD-9SWX — Super-wide + extended length
• HD-9AE — Alignment-ready version

HDS-14 / HDS-14X — Heavy-Duty (Lab Verdict: 8.7/10)

14,000 lbs, 242″ runways. The heavy-duty standard for truck collectors and fleet shops. ~$8,300–$8,600. The X variant adds extra width.

HD-7P — Narrow Bay (Lab Verdict: 7.8/10)

7,000 lbs, narrow configuration for tight spaces. ~$5,400. Ideal for condo garages and multi-lift setups where width is constrained.

Heavy-Duty Commercial

BendPak also manufactures heavy-duty 4-post lifts in the 18,000-lb (HDS-18), 27,000-lb (HD-27), and 40,000-lb (HD-40) classes for commercial and industrial applications. These are beyond the scope of home garage use but demonstrate BendPak’s engineering depth.

BendPak Scissor Lifts

MD-6XP — Mid-Rise (Lab Verdict: 8.2/10)

The MD-6XP sits flush with the garage floor when lowered. Drive over it, park on it, use the garage normally. When you need to lift, it rises to 48″ — comfortable working height for brakes, wheels, oil changes, and lower suspension components. 110V operation eliminates the electrician cost. Best for low-ceiling garages (8’+ is sufficient) where a 2-post lift can’t fit.

SP-7XE — Full-Rise (Lab Verdict: 7.5/10)

The SP-7XE reaches near-2-post rise heights (70.5″ vs. ~72″ for standard 2-post) using a scissor mechanism. No columns, no overhead beams. Suitable for garages where a full-rise lift is needed but column installation isn’t possible. The price ($10,800) puts it in premium territory.

BendPak Portable Lifts (QuickJack & MaxJax)

BendPak owns both the QuickJack and MaxJax brands.

QuickJack — Portable Frame Lifts

Nine models from 3,500 to 8,000 lbs. ALI certified. 110V and 220V options. Stores against a wall. Setup takes 5 minutes per use.

Extended-length TLX versions of each model add ~6″ of frame length for longer-wheelbase vehicles at $50–$100 more.

Best for most buyers: The 6000TL ($1,900) balances capacity, price, and versatility. For truck owners: 8000TL ($2,100).

Autostacker A6S / A6W (Lab Verdict: 7.5/10)

6,000 lbs, fits 9′ ceilings, flush when lowered, ~$12,000–$15,000. The A6W variant adds interior width. The only residential lift that works in standard-height ceilings for full-height vehicle parking.
