The Lab Verdict

Executive Summary

The Verdict:

The Advantage DX-11000-WD is an 11,000-lb wide-deck four-post — the “WD” is a wider platform for broader-track trucks and SUVs that overhang a standard four-post. It’s a heavy-capacity storage-and-service lift for a wide bay. Drive-on with no arms to set, and stable enough to store a vehicle on. Its closest comparison is the dual-platform BendPak HD-9SW for side-by-side, or browse all 4-post lifts.

  • Who Should Buy It:
  • Wide-track trucks and large SUVs
  • High-capacity storage (up to 11,000 lb)
  • Wide garages doubling parking
  • Who Should Skip It:
  • Narrow garages (the wide deck needs side-to-side room)
  • Standard cars (a 9k four-post costs less)
  • ⚠️ Lab Note:
The wide deck is the point — measure your bay side to side, and confirm ceiling for a stored vehicle.

Engineering Analysis

The “Deep Dive”

Hydraulics & Rise Time

An electric-hydraulic power unit raises both wide runways together on equalized cables.

Safety Lock System

Multiple mechanical lock positions hold the wide runways on steel stops for secure storage.

Structural Integrity

Wide-deck four-post rated 11,000 lb, with wider platforms for broad-track vehicles, drive-on for storage and service. (Confirm exact dimensions with the manufacturer.)

The "Squeeze" Factor

This is the most critical section for the DX-11000-WD.

DRIVE-THROUGH WIDTH Check with manufacturer

Drive-through width data is not available for this lift. Please verify fitment specifications with the manufacturer before purchasing.

Fit & setup

Freestanding on flat concrete; confirm the footprint and ceiling height. See our best 4-post lifts guide or all 4-post lifts.

The Lab Take:

Both lifts are in a similar category. Your decision should come down to specific features that matter most for your use case.

Year 1 Maintenance Schedule

Owning a lift is like owning a car. You can’t just install it and ignore it.

Weekly

Wipe down the inside of the columns. Dust mixed with grease turns into a grinding paste that wears out your slider blocks. Check for debris around the runways and base plates.

Monthly

Check Cable Tension. You will hear the locks “clicking” as the lift goes up. If one corner clicks later than the others, that cable is loose. Tighten the nut on top of that specific column to level it out. Inspect the safety locks for proper engagement.

Yearly

Inspect the hydraulic hoses for dry rot or cracks. Grease the pulleys (sheaves) if they do not have sealed bearings. Check all bolts and fasteners for tightness. Verify hydraulic fluid levels and condition.
